Waikato Health Trust

The  broad purpose of the Trust is to support the provision of health and disability services within the area served by the Waikato District Health Board.

The Waikato Health Trust (WHT) is an incorporated charitable trust.  One of its main activities is to manage the donations and bequests received by the Waikato District Health Board.  Under an arrangement between the Board and the Trust all donations and bequests received by the Board are passed to the Trust. They are then spent strictly in accordance with the donor's wishes.

This arrangement gives donors confidence that any conditions they may wish to attach to their donation will be respected and that donations will not be swallowed up within the general revenue of the Board. It also enables donations to benefit from the tax advantages of a charitable trust as well as maximising returns by allowing funds to be pooled.

Making a donation

The Trust welcomes donations and bequests to support the provision of health and disability services within the area served by the Waikato District Health Board.

Such donations can be tagged in any way the donor considers appropriate. For example, a donor may wish to support a particular hospital or ward, a particular area of research or even a particular locality. The funds managed accordingly and no administration or overhead fees (except online donation transaction fees) are deducted so every dollar you donate is used for the for the intended purpose.

The following payment options are available to make a donation:

  1. By cheque - please make the cheque out to the "Waikato Health Trust" and post the cheque to Cashiers, Waikato District Health Board, PO Box 934, Hamilton 3240, New Zealand.
