Now you can find reliable online answers to your queries about health conditions, symptoms and treatments - all from qualified clinicians both in New Zealand and internationally via HealthTap on your smartphone, tablet or desktop computer.
What is HealthTap?
HealthTap is an online platform and smartphone app. Waikato DHB has worked with HealthTap to develop a New Zealand version that gives you access to health information, advice, online consultations with hospital specialists, and an out of hours online doctor service. HealthTap supports video, voice and text chat.
Using HealthTap
- You can access health information, tips and the latest research on any health topic
- You can ask a question and receive an answer from a database of responses all approved by doctors registered on the HealthTap system.
- The New Zealand version of HealthTap brings New Zealand information and responses to the top of your searches.
- HealthTap links you to useful health-related resources and websites.
All this, PLUS the ability to access an out of hours online doctor service, and to have an online consultation option with your hospital doctor.
What do I need to do?
- You need to be covered by Waikato DHB services (i.e. living in the Waikato DHB health district and eligible for public health services).
- You need a 4G smartphone or a computer with broadband connection.
- You must be registered on the New Zealand version of HealthTap.
HOW TO SIGN UP - Login to the HealthTap app or HealthTap website, and enter your topic or query.
