The Waikato District Health Board Library has a core collection of 10,000 books and over 10,000 journal titles, focusing on resources across all hospital specialities, as well as physiotherapy, rehabilitation, health statistics, general practice and management. There is also a significant historical book collection.
The Library is open to members of the public for reference purposes. All Waikato District Health Board staff have access to the Library.
Professional healthcare practitioners working within the Waikato District Health Board region can become approved borrowers for no charge upon registration .
For all other non-staff a membership fee of $60 for six months, or $100 for one year, gives borrowing access to the Library's book collectio

- CINAHL Complete -main database for nurses and allied health professionals
- Psychology and Behavioural Sciences Collection –mental health, psychiatry, psychology
- Health Business Elite -health care administration and other non-clinical aspects of health care institution management. Full-text includes Harvard Business Review
- Lippincott Procedures-clinical procedures available for nurses and midwives
- Nursing Reference Centre- evidence-based information for nurses at the point of care

Registered nurses and midwives within the Midland region have free access to Lippincott Procedures (evidence-based nursing procedures) and Nursing Reference Center (evidence-based point-of-care tool) .
To set up access

- Create an account (if you haven’t got one)-follow the instructions
- Once your account has been confirmed, sign in
- Click on Supporting eLearning (at the bottom of the screen in the green footer area)
- Click on Lippincott Procedures and Nursing Reference Center
- Send a request for access
